Dear
Scouts and Parents:
The Scouts and the Adult
Leadership of BSA Troop 456 extend our hand in
friendship and Welcome you to our Troop Website.
We are a very active troop which provides our scouts
with many exciting opportunities for fun and adventure.
Troop 456 was chartered in 1952 and has produced 58
Eagle Scouts to date. Our mission is to help your sons
to succeed in learning life long skills.
Research studies show that
men who were Scouts believe the program had a positive
influence on their lives, as well as, on the American
society as a whole. Scouting helps develop
self-confidence, interpersonal skills, organizational
skills, friends and family relationships, and instills
boys to take on larger roles in community service.
Men, who were scouts five or
more years are more likely than non-scouts to graduate
from high school and college, earn higher annual
household incomes, enjoy lifelong friendships, and
believe that helping others should come before one’s own
self-interests.
Troop 456 continues to be a
scout-run troop with the guidance of many adult
leaders. We have a strong Troop Committee which
supports our every need. I encourage parents to join in
becoming members of our troop committee in order to keep
up-to-date on all activities and events. We also have
numerous tasks in which we will need parents help and
support.
Troop 456’s current
leadership has over 75 years of Scouting experience.
All of our leaders are fully trained and most are
Woodbadge trained as well.
If you have any questions or
would like further information on becoming a member of
our troop, you may
contact me. Again welcome to our troop website and
please feel free to browse.
Yours in Scouting,
Nicholas Stetz, III
